PFM SUPERSPORT UPGRADE DISCS

Brand new for 2000 are these unique patented design Supersport Upgrade Discs, designed and manufactured in the UK by PFM who supply high-tech braking components to many top level racing teams.
The materials and design are identical to those used in the TT winning Superbike Conversion Kit discs, but these discs are for use with standard calipers rather than the PFM “six-pots” used in the SBK Conversion.
This design of disc does away with the traditional ‘button’ mounting between disc and carrier, instead using a simple flat faced ‘dog drive’ mounting with a laminar ring (large circlip) holding the disc rotor to the carrier. PFM’s patented design still allows the disc to be fully floating but offers many advantages over standard.
High quality ductile iron rotors give excellent co-efficient of friction, exceeding that of original
••equipment stainless steel. Less brake fade is achieved with the use of iron rotors due to even heat
••dissipation throughout the material, helping to keep heat build-up away from the pad and caliper.
Dog drive design spreads the load between rotor and carrier, thus reducing wear between the two
••components - eliminating the loose buttons associated with traditional floating design discs.
Laminar ring fixing allows disc outers to be changed in seconds without the use of specialist tools.
Carriers are machined from solid alloy billet, then hard anodised to ensure maximum integrity and
••wear resistance.
Increased performance and a technical look can be achieved at less than half the cost of a full SBK
••Conversion Kit.
Supersport Upgrade Disc outer-only ‘rebuild kits’ are readily available to reduce the cost of
••replacements.

NB: Best results will be achieved when used with quality supersport/racing organic, semi-metallic or carbon-metallic brake pads. Use of sintered pads can result in permanent damage.
